Intellect Enterprises Copyright Deposit Service protects original material such as software applications, websites, product designs, artwork, original music scores and fashion designs in order to help establish the ownership of material and can be used to assist in prosecution/defence of copyright infringement claims.
These contracts, unlike software escrow, have two parties to a contract (Intellect Enterprises and the Copyright owner) and the original material is held along with rough drafts and plans showing how it evolved, details of ownership and evidence of authorship.
The value of the Copyright Material as proof of originality depends on the quality of evidence surrounding its development that is deposited with the Copyright Material. We have therefore detailed on the Order Form exactly what ought to be provided with the Copyright material.
Intellect will give the Order Form a reference number, a date and time stamp, deposit a copy of the stamped form with the deposited material and return the original to the Copyright Owner.
